#9 15 august 2012 soooo over working on this mall haha. tenants keep changing. redraw baseplans daily. get to do a detail every now and then. like details. still havent been on the site yet, realy wish i could fo along, would understand better if i saw the building. getting quite good in archicad. our project architect is the best in archicad in the office. helps alot. he likes telling me how to do things faster in the program which is good. i also ask alot of questions regarding the program. we will build the new companyn template soon. will learn a few nifty tricks. bargain #8 19 july 2012 brrrr its cold. have been working on door schedules for shops and also shopfront schedules. sighhhhh its alot of the same. have to read through tenant specs and mark up important parts. the mall is the only project im working on at the moment. #7 26 june 2012 j back in office in windhoek, will miss ct. have been added to the team working on otjiwarongo mall. mall about 1,400 sqm. half of it is being revameped and the other newly built. currently busy drawing base plans of the lettable shops to be sent to tenants for signing contracts. working on archicad teamworks. quite intresting. 6 # 21 may 2012 almost finished with the working drawings for the apartments. will be of to cput soon for block date. busy withn the presentation and layouts for the hub submission. amped to see everyone again. when i return to office i will start working on a mall. intrested in what that will be like. time will tell #5 23 april 2012 soooo got a lot of work. busy doing details for a garment factory and with the working drawings for the other housing project which need to be done for 27th. whoop whoop. still no feedback on my cput task so that's not really going anywhere while hand in slip by and final hand in approaches. using my free time to learn cinema4d these days. using the concept model for testing and doing tutorials. also reading. stumbled over a new champ of a architect - richard neutra. also read that oscar niemeir is 106 years old. born 1906. #4 02 april 2012 guess who got a 27'' led mac screen for his workstation today #3 01 april 2012 ok so its been a while. time flew this past month. had a lot of work to do. did presentation posters for our companies merit awards submission. turn out to be a 19hour working weekend. after this worked continued on staff housing project. our offices also moved into a much larger building. had fun moving. we now have a leker studio vibe. have also been upgraded from my pc to a mac tower. pritty chuffed. still have a terrible screen. there's a saying in the offices that ''once you go back you don't go back''. seems to be true , haha. had to finish working drawing set for monday the 2nd. then starting on drawings for shops in a new mall. project is behind so its a fast paced job. but over all i'm learning a lot. architecturally and archicad wise. njoi #2 26 february 2012 work got busy. architecture is much more than just drawing up plans. admin is important and tends to create a problem. clients are indecisive. my colleges work hard. i try to follow their example. worked my first saturday for the firm. busy with a site plan for government housing to go to the qs needed asap. also busy with applications for nominations for architectural merit awards. takes time getting everything together. it seems to me that all the ladi da of architectural theory takes a back seat in the real world with real money and real deadlines and real clients. i'm enjoying my work. i'm enjoying my firm. learning everyday. will definitely be a printing ninja by the end of this year. njoy #1 19 february 2012 this is my official first post on my blog. i've been working now for almost a month. most of my first 2 weeks i spent doing archicad tutorials at work. it was intresting, but got boring at the end. we had a archicad training week with a qualified trainer , unluckily i could only spend 2 days in the class due to the block week of cput....
